Justine Soper is the driving force behind JLS Solicitors.
She has worked in legal practice since leaving school at age 16.
Preferring to stay and work to gain valuable experience, at the same time she undertook her legal studies through part time attendance at college and evening classes.
Firstly, she gained her Legal Executive qualification and, in 1997, attained Solicitor status, with a distinction from the prestigious Guildford College of Law now the University of Law - Guildford, earning a Law Society prize for the highest grades on her course that year.
At JLS Solicitors, we will work with you and assist you in sorting out the arrangements for your children after the end of your relationship with your former partner.
Such things as where the children are going to live and how often they will see each of their parents can be difficult to agree upon, particularly at the time of the relationship breakdown between parents.
Issues can also arise later - arrangements often have to evolve as the children get older, or circumstances change within the family.
Cohabitation primarily relates to couples who are in an intimate relationship on a permanent or long term basis, without entering into marriage or civil partnership.
At JLS Solicitors, we can draw up a Cohabitation Agreement for you.
Similar to a pre-nuptial agreement, it seeks to protect each partner's assets in the event of the relationship ending.
The Court will often take this into account if any dispute arises.
If a cohabiting relationship breaks down, the law relating to how any financial issues are decided between the couple is very different to divorce law.
At JLS Solicitors, we know the decision to end a marriage or civil partnership is never an easy one to make.
Ending your relationship is a difficult and emotional time for you and your family.
Approaching the divorce or dissolution in a non-confrontational way can make it more likely you can work towards an agreed settlement.
This more considered approach often results in you and any children coming through the breakdown able to look ahead and to plan for the future.
We will discuss with you whether mediation or other dispute resolution options may suit your circumstances best.
Domestic abuse can occur in any household, anywhere in the country and the victim can be a man or a woman.
If you are in immediate fear of aggressive behaviour or violence, then your first call must be to the Police - domestic abuse is a crime.
At JLS Solicitors we can help you with the legal process to obtain an urgent injunction from the Court which can protect you from violence, threats of violence, abusive behaviour and harassment.
An injunction can also exclude the abuser from your house.
Domestic abuse is not limited to physical assault or violence, it can also be psychological abuse, unlawful imprisonment, harassment, stalking or coercive / controlling behaviour.
