PRELIMINARY GUIDANCE: These notes are not exhaustive but are preliminary guidelines only, to save time and expense both for you and me.
They interrelate with my accompanying web page - Notarial Time & Fees.
1. NOT A MERE RUBBER STAMPING EXERCISE: The international duty of a notary involves a high standard of care, not only towards you as the client but particularly to the transaction itself, as well as towards other parties, and governments or officials of other countries.
This is because they are intended, and are entitled (1) to assume that a notary will ensure due compliance with the relevant requirements at home and abroad, whether or not specifically requested to do so, and (2) to rely on the notary's register and records thereof.
They interrelate with my accompanying web page TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT -General Notes for Guidance re: NOTARIAL APPOINTMENTS.
1. MY FEES: My present hourly rate is 300.00 (inclusive of VAT).
My present minimum fee for a brief matter is normally 75.00 (inclusive of VAT).
I reserve the right to vary the rate, particularly in respect of extremely urgent and/or onerous or unusual matters.
3. DISBURSEMENTS: Additionally the client is responsible for all disbursements, including such of the following as are applicable: (1) legalisation fees payable to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and/or Embassies etc; (2) translators'/interpreters' fees; (3) Companies Registry fees; (4) Agents; (5) travelling expenses where applicable; (6) couriers' and/or other transmission costs.
Solicitors are one of the three types of lawyer in England and Wales (the other two being barrister and notary public), who are legally qualified to practise law.
They hold the required professional indemnity insurance and annually renewed practising certificate and advise clients on a range of matters of law in England and Wales, such as conveyancing and property law, wills and probate, business, company, commercial and employment laws.
They can also in some circumstances appear for the client in courts of law.
This is information which is intended to give a general guide to levels of fees and the length of time a matter may take.
Individual matters are "individual" and costs and timings will be influenced by the particular facts and circumstances of each case.
A more accurate estimate or fee quote will be provided on request, and we reserve the right to review any quote or estimate once we have seen the paperwork and/or had an initial meeting to discuss clients' requirements.
All fees and disbursements are subject to the addition of Value Added Tax at the current rate.
