Campbell-taylor Solicitors
With our roots in Dalston (north London) and over 20 years of experience as a niche law firm we continue to offer a friendly and personalised service to the local community and beyond. We send our best wishes to everyone we work with and hope you all manage to stay safe during the unfolding pandemic. Where possible please communicate with your lawyer by email.

Incoming calls will be diverted and we will do our best to answer calls during the weekdays between 10am and 5:30 pm; if you don't immediately get through please try again or leave a message and someone will get back to you. We also remain open to new enquiries; again if you can't get through please leave a message with a name and contact number or email mail@rhctlegal.co.uk.

From legal aid (where available) to reasonable hourly rates (from 75) to clear estimates, fixed and capped fees and CFAs, we offer maximum flexibility, value and certainty. While our offices in Bradbury Street/Gillett Square Dalston are being refurbished we are temporarily relocating to new offices at 8 Woodberry Down, Hackney.
Services
I have been helping people nearly 20 years; I have got a fantastic, committed team of lawyers that have a great track record; in particular achieving results for clients who have physical or mental health problems or capacity issues.
We like sticking up for "the underdog", usually an individual (sometimes a small business).
It makes me very proud that we have helped over five and a half thousand very unique people.
I can understand why people are nervous about the cost of legal advice.
When I have occasionally had to obtain legal advice myself I feel the same.
The firm tries not to be overly prescriptive.
Different people work differently and staff are given the freedom to pursue their own interests and ways of working, however we very much encourage an approach that emphasises active discussion and exchange of ideas.
Rod is the managing solicitor.
After law school in London and then training/qualifying in Suffolk Rod moved back to London in 1996 when he started his own practice.
He has been a member of the Law Society's specialist Mental Health Panel since 1996 and was formally a committee member of the Mental Health Lawyer's Association.
You acted with total professionalism at all times but also with warmth, empathy, understanding, non-judgmentalism and good humour.
Your preparation and presentation were spot on.
At no time did you falter.
I have been in a Court of Protection battle for some freedom, rights and proper case for my father.
The solicitors helping me (Alice Livermore and Tom Lewenstein) all challenged the dreadful attitude of the local authority with much keenness and vigour.
Plus, also looking at our case with a wide view, thinking "outside the box".
Woodberry Down (the street) begins just opposite Manor House tube station, across the Seven Sisters Road and runs south east from (and almost parallel with) the Seven Sisters Road until the junction of Lordship Road.
No 8 Woodberry Down is on the right hand side (as you walk south away from the Seven Sisters Road) just after Coster Road and just before the gym.
If you are coming by tube the nearest station is Manor House on the Piccadilly line.
There are regular buses from central Hackney/Clapton (254) or London Bridge by way of Newington Green/Stoke Newington Church Street (141).
The Mental Capacity Act sets out various principles which govern how we should all make decisions in respect of people who cannot make decisions for themselves.
The MCA also governs the jurisdiction on the Court of Protection.
The Court of Protection is there as a last resort to resolve disputes about or on behalf of people who lack capacity to make decisions for themselves.
Presumption of capacity - a person must be presumed to have capacity unless there is cogent evidence which establishes that they do not.
