Nicola Phillips Solicitors
Nicola Phillips Solicitors was established in 2008 by its founder and senior partner, Nicola Phillips. Our principal business ethos is to provide our clients with the best possible service with the minimum stress to them and at the same time to offer good value-for-money. To this end Nicola has assembled an experienced and able team, well-qualified to cover a wide range of legal services (see "Our Team" and "Our Services" below).

Another guiding principle is to make our clients feel very much at ease and undaunted by the buying/selling process. We take great pains to avoid confusing legal jargon and to explain legal issues clearly. Our new premises on Black Horse Way are very much in keeping with this welcoming and non-intimidatory principle. Behind the Georgian facade, which blends harmoniously with our lovely town centre, lies a newly-furnished and decorated interior, offering a warm, welcoming and relaxing ambience to our clientele.

Our company is a young one, having been founded by Nicola Phillips in 2008.
Services
Make every effort not to use confusing legal jargon and to explain the practical significance of specific laws pertaining to your transaction.
Stand out from the crowd as a fantastic modern law firm that you would entrust not only with your own legal transactions but those of your family and friends as well.
Always let your solicitor know what is happening throughout your transaction - for example: if you have agreed a completion date direct with the seller.
If you have a timescale for your move, always let your solicitor know.
It is also helpful to know your reasons as this can then be explained to the rest of the chain.
Call round a couple of removal firms to check and confirm they are available on your required completion day.
The agent should read all utility meters as you leave your property; but it is a good idea to read and record them yourself, both in the property you are leaving and the one you are moving into.
We recognise that getting around can be problematic for clients with a visual or mobility impairment, therefore, we can, by prior arrangement, visit you and take your instructions in the comfort of your own home.
Whilst much of our work involves Residential Conveyancing, we also operate departments dealing with the setting up and administration of Wills, Probate and Powers of Attorney; Employment Law including redundancy and compromise agreements.
Please give us a call if you are unsure what type of service you require and we will talk you through it.
Over the years I have forged some great alliances with local businesses as their preferred partner for Conveyancing, Wills, Probate, Powers of Attorney and Employment Law to our clients' benefit.
Aside from a professional, fast and sensitive service, we can offer special partner rates and added legal resources for your company.
There will also be the usual conveyancing disbursments and additional costs for a sale and purchase as below.
Office Copies from the Land Registry - 6.00 Plus additional fees if we have to apply for transfers which are referred to in the title or a copy of a lease in leasehold cases.
Stamp Duty - This will depend how much you are purchasing for, see table below and there are also different rates for first time buyers or those who already own a property and are purchasing another one.
Stamp Duty Admin Fee - 75 plus vat - This is our fee for dealing with the stamp duty submission form.
