Michael Foster Law
Over 30 years experience in employment law. We provide a personal service which is aimed at getting the best possible results for our clients. We aim to assist you in all your concerns and to provide you with a professional service at all times. Few small and medium companies can afford their own human resources department. Yet getting it wrong could mean disaster, particularly for smaller companies, with awards for Unfair Dismissal exceeding 70,000 and in discrimination cases unlimited awards.

With the right advice not only can such claims be avoided but with the right advice employees can be used to their best advantage and positive relationships pursued. Firstly, we offer all businesses interested in our scheme a free 'health check' of company contracts and policies. We will identify not only whether they are legally compliant but whether they are achieving your company's objectives.

For a one-off fee we are happy to update and sort out any issues that are revealed by the audit. However, should you choose to join our 'on call' Employment Advice Service scheme, we offer not only a redrafting of all necessary documents but continual updates as and when they are necessary.
Services
Many charities and voluntary organisations employ paid workers and face the same challenges as other employers do.
Even those who rely solely on volunteers are not immune from legal action.
It's important to protect your organisation through effective policies and contracts and to have access to specialist advice if a problem should arise.
Michael Foster Law is pleased to provide reduced cost legal advice for Charities and Voluntary Organisations which can be accessed through membership of HVA or RVA.
Employment law is a specialist area where mistakes can be costly.
Good advice can be a worthwhile investment for your business - whether you are looking to protect your business against possible future problems, or need help now to deal with a particular situation.
Here at Michael Foster Law we take a common sense approach aimed at achieving the best possible outcome for you.
If you are looking to set up a small business, ask us about our "On Call Service" to help ensure you meet all the statutory requirements.
If you need to take a stand against an employer you don't need to do it alone.
We will fight for your rights, and for the others in your workplace who also need protection against unfair practices and discrimination.
There are time limits though, so don't delay in getting legal advice.
Are you working in an environment where unwanted touching or offensive jokes and comments are seen as normal?
Is a boss or colleague making unwanted sexual advances?
Are you being humiliated in front of colleagues?
Mediation can help you avoid potentially high legal costs.

As a qualified mediator, Michael Foster offers interpersonal mediation services to help resolve disputes particularly in the employment field but also in other circumstances, for instance tenant/landlord or consumer/service provider.

All the following costs include VAT.
Our usual charge is 240 per hour/10 units of time for the legal advice we provide.
