The firm is led by John Cathcart who founded Cathcarts in 1980. Peter Cathcart joined in 1982 and Marilynn Cathcart has worked with the firm throughout it's existence. They are supported by a very able and dedicated staff with many years of experience in the firm. Our firm has been supplying legal services to the local and international community for over 35 years.

Our services range from buying and selling houses to wills and probate, commercial property, corporate sales and purchases, international trade transactions, arbitration and work on behalf of foreign goverments. The firm of Cathcarts was started by John Cathcart in 1980 and since 1981 has operated from 2 Swakeleys Road, Ickenham, North West London.
John was joined by his brother, Peter, in 1982, formerly a partner in a firm in the West End of London.
Commercial and residential conveyancing, both freehold and leasehold, probate and wills are significant areas of practice of the firm.
The firm also has significant expertise in major international commercial transactions for foreign governments, government owned companies and high net worth clients.
We act for individuals, companies and clients from various parts of the world, including foreign government owned entities.
This work is undertaken by John Cathcart and Peter Cathcart, both of whom have over 40 years' experience in all residential and commercial transactions.
The sale and purchase of properties has been a paticular feature of the firms work over many years.
The firm has paticular expertise in international franchise operations.
The firm has advised foreign governments and embassies for over thirty years and has been involved in many international disputes and international arbitrations.
Legal costs are generally based upon time spent by the Partner and the support staff dealing with your matter together with the particular complexity involved.
Costs vary between Freehold and Leasehold matters.
More time is involved in Leasehold matters.
Costs are also partly dependent upon the value of the property involved.
We will always provide you with a specific quotation and a breakdown of the anticipated and expected legal costs to enable you to calculate your finances.
Typically our charges for the sale or purchase of a Freehold property range between 1,000 to 1,250 plus VAT and disbursements (monies paid out on your behalf).
