Brooke Taylors Solicitors
Brooke-Taylors is a thriving law firm located in the centre of Buxton. We are proud to have been part of the town's business community since 1846. We offer a first-rate legal service provided by experienced, friendly and caring staff. The vast majority of our staff are Dementia Friends. We have acted for many families for generations and we continue to attract new clients through recommendation.

Our Private Client Department specialises in Probate, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection cases. Including employment matters (namely advice re: employment contracts and settlement agreements), property and/or rights of way, building disputes, contested wills and estates. We cover all aspects of legal work which arise not only when relationships break down but also when they develop and might require a more formal footing (e.g. a cohabitation or pre-nuptial agreement).

An LPA is a legal document that lets you choose trusted people (attorneys) to make decisions on your behalf.
Services
The practice has been established in Buxton for over 150 years.
Until 2010 the practice traded as a partnership but since that time we have traded as a limited company.
We are well regarded and aim to provide a friendly, fair and expert service.
Much of our work is either for existing clients or by recommendation from existing clients.
We have 4 principal departments: Property, Private Client, Family and Litigation.
We are well-placed to serve clients from Macclesfield, Leek, Bakewell, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge, New Mills, Glossop and the High Peak.
We strongly advise every adult to make a will and to review it should their circumstances change.
We would both like to thank you for your hard work, kindness and compassion whilst dealing with our mother's estate.
At times it was very difficult for us both and we appreciate all you did to alleviate some of the problems.
We cover all aspects of legal work which arise not only when relationships break down but also when they develop and might require a more formal footing such as in the form of a cohabitation or a pre-nuptial agreement.
Our expertise includes marriage and civil partnership dissolution, arrangements for how children spend their time living in separate households, financial arrangements between separating couples (married, civil partnership or unmarried) for themselves and for children and personal protection orders and injunctions.
An LPA is a legal document that lets you choose trusted people (attorneys) to make decisions on your behalf.
You can choose whether your attorneys can act for you as soon as the LPA is registered or only if you can no longer understand and make decisions.
You can also appoint different attorneys for your personal finances and your business affairs if this is relevant.
Your attorneys can only make decisions about your health and care when you no longer have mental capacity.
You can choose whether your attorneys or your doctor should make decisions about accepting or refusing medical treatment to keep you alive, if you cannot make or understand that decision yourself.
We pride ourselves in offering a one to one service throughout your property transaction, whether it be a sale, purchase of either freehold or leasehold property or a re-mortgage.
We will cover all aspects of the buying and selling process and keep you informed throughout the procedure.
We can prepare pre-auction packs and provide auction advice.
We also act for landlords and tenants.
The department further provides a range of other property related services from queries on existing titles to first registration of land.
