Morgan Trusts & Tax Planning Limited is a specialist firm of solicitors. We provide specialist advice on capital tax planning, trust creation and administration, Will preparation and post death estate administration (usually called probate), powers of attorney and all matters related to the Office of the Public Guardian and Court of Protection and to care of the elderly issues generally.

As many of our existing clients are farmers and landed estates or existing trusts we also advise on all the legal/financial issues related to trust and land administration. The company already has an established client base of longstanding clients. Therefore, we only take referrals from existing clients and the network of land agents, financial advisors, stockbrokers and accountants with whom we work regularly.

We are conscious that parts of the legal profession have a reputation for being slow in delivering services to clients, so we are always careful to never take on too much work preferring to do a smaller number of jobs promptly.

James Morgan is the managing director and owner of Morgan Trusts & Tax Planning Ltd Solicitors.
A qualified solicitor for over 25 years, James has practised as a specialist private client solicitor in King's Lynn since 1999, having previously worked from 1993 to 1999 for Wedlake Bell Solicitors in London.
John Gethin has practised as a solicitor in King's Lynn since 1964.
One of a large family of Lynn lawyers going back several generations, John was senior partner of one of the Lynn law firms until 2001.
Sorting out the legal and financial issues that flow from a death is generally referred to by lawyers as Probate.
This term derives from the name of the Court Order that confirms the validity of a Will, the "Grant of Probate".
The area of work, however, covers a very much broader field than that.
Probate work also encompasses not just acting for the deceased's estate but also covers acting for beneficiaries of an estate to ensure their rights are respected.
It is a sad truth that these days more and more probates are becoming contentious.
We prepare all sorts of Wills from the very straightforward to the very complex.
Our Will drafters have decades of experience and also, importantly, all do probate work as well as we feel it important that anyone drafting a Will also knows how they are administered when death occurs.
For instance, we regularly prepare Wills with asset protection angles when potential beneficiaries have issues with divorce, care fees, mental or physical disability or just poor money handling skills.
Being a firm of solicitors we also bring the peace of mind of being a properly regulated and insured provider of Will drafting services.
We do not just prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney and make applications to the Court for Deputyship Orders when clients have lost capacity and do not have an Enduring or Lasting Power of Attorney, we also administer (or help administer) the financial affairs of those suffering from age or health-related issues.
We have extensive experience of the care process and a good working knowledge of most of the care institutions in the Norfolk area.
Our lawyers regularly visit our clients who are in care to ensure they are getting the best care possible.
As a firm doing a lot of work for those with capital taxation related issues, we have a large Trust practice.
Trusts are an area of great mystique to some and we aim to de-mystify this field and help clients realise how useful trusts can be for controlling assets passed over to others.
We set up trusts, administer them (including doing accounts and filing tax returns), wind them up and advise trustees and beneficiaries alike on their rights in relation to Trusts.
Trusts play a central role in much Tax Planning and again we aim to work with a client's other advisors to ensure a seamless service where nothing gets missed.
