Syvil returned to higher education after 2 years in the Police Force and 6 years in the British Army.
He holds a BA in law from London Guildhall University, an LLM from Queen Mary and Westfield College and an MSc in criminology from the University of Leicester.
He qualified in 1991 and specialises in child abduction law, childcare proceedings and international family law.
He is a member of the Law Society's Children Panel and he is also a member of Resolution.
