I have been an enrolled solicitor since 1995. Over that time I have worked in several firms of solicitors located in Perth, Dundee and Fife with an emphasis on family law. In 2010 I opened my own legal practice in Perth specialising in family law. Since then, I have developed many long term and satisfied clients throughout Perth and Perthshire. I appear regularly within Perth Sheriff Court and other Sheriff Courts in Scotland representing clients dealing with divorce, separation and child contact.

If you are looking for an experienced, friendly and keenly priced solicitor in Perth for legal advice with your family law issue, give me a call on 07310 164 305 for a free 10 minute diagnostic interview with a solicitor. I have a strong background as a family lawyer with a particular interest in resolving issues related to divorce, financial settlements, separation agreements.

I can also help you reach consensus with contact and residence disputes. I always provide pragmatic & sensible legal advice on your family law matters.

Call me on 07310 164 305 for a free 10 minute diagnostic interview with a solicitor.
You may be considering separation or already have separated.
Separating may bring home to you the sheer amount of practical issues you must begin to deal with.
Sometimes, separation may allow you breathing space and a chance for you to gather your thoughts for what may lie ahead.
Whilst not meant to be exhaustive of the law concerning separation, I will detail below common questions and queries from clients throughout Perthshire that I have dealt with in relation to separation advice and drafting separation agreements.
When relationships break down a potential source of conflict and worry are the arrangements surrounding contact & residence of your children.
Where should the children live and with whom?
What about contact with the children & non resident parent?
What happens if you cannot see eye to eye with your partner on a suitable arrangement?
Orders may need to be obtained at Court.
All are common problems that I have successfully addressed over my career as a family law solicitor in Perth.
Need help with a contact or residence issue?
Parents have a significant responsibility to look after their children and are largely free to bring up their children in the way that they as parents consider is best for that child's development & welfare.
In order to fulfil these responsibilities, parents enjoy rights in regard to the upbringing of their children.
Need help concerning parental right & responsibilities?
Call me on 07310 164 305 or use the contact form for a free 10 minute diagnostic interview with a solicitor.
To safeguard and promote the child's health, development and welfare; an example would be to choose suitable schooling for that child and to ensure access to medical treatment.
Disputes may arise between former partners or couples where one party threatens to remove the children from the other party or even leave the area altogether with the children.
Threats to act can be extremely worrying for children & resident parent.
What can be done in the face of such threats?
In Scotland, one can apply to the court for an Interdict to prevent a person carrying out specific acts or entering a specific location.
I have successfully obtained many interdicts over my career as a family law solicitor in Perth.
